What are your three favourite things?
I love traveling, F.R.I.E.N.D.S (the TV show) and the Creative Arts (fashion, music, photography, art and dance)
What is a world issue that concerns you?
Children. Every child has the right to health, education and protection and every single society has a role to play in expanding a child’s opportunity in life. So many children around the world are denied their fair chance at life, due their country or unfortunate circumstances that they were born into. This became a genuine concern for me when I decided to join an organisation here in Barbados, ‘ProtEQt’ Children’s Foundation. Our primary goal was to provide for children (in Uganda) who literally had nothing. Most, if not all, the children were orphans due to HIV/AIDS taking the lives of their parents and/or guardians. We raised enough funds to send a community of children to school, with clothing, basic living supplies and food. Receiving those letters from our kids every term, was one of the greatest blessings I have ever received. Their letters were filled with nothing but love and pure gratitude, and all we did was give them their basic needs as a child.
Why do you want to be Miss Universe?
I want to be Miss Universe because it has always been my dream. To represent my beautiful island and to make my people proud to have one of their own make a positive impact in the world. Miss Universe is a platform for every queen to implement remarkable life changing choices for people, in their own style and direction. Miss Universe should be genuine, compassionate, engaging, confident, fearless, beautiful and unique; and I definitely possess these qualities and more.
